Warm Tuesday!

Nice day to be outdoors!
We began the day with the Spelling Bee competition. Congratulations to Nicole, Jacob and Anthony!
Students then had Gym outside with Mr. Browning.
In the afternoon we wrote in the journals and had centers.

Happy Thursday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time, healthy snacks, French and Drama classes.
In Language Arts we practiced for the spelling bee and completed a couple of activities that dealt with spelling and reading cvc words.
In Math we practiced counting and writing by 10s and reviewed patterning.
In the afternoon we practiced a little bit more of writing sentences, students had Gym and centers.

Arts Night!

I guess busy is the word in the last couple of days...JKs have been practicing hard for Arts Night!

Today in Language Arts we practiced for the Spelling Bee and also writing sentences.
In Math we used math counters to practice addition.

Happy Monday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time, snacks and French class.
In Language we worked on improving our writing skills by completing a couple of pages of our Writing with Phonics K5.
In Math we worked on addition using math manipulatives.
In the afternoon we had a rehearsal with all classes for our Arts Night coming up on Wednesday.
To finish off the day we had gym and story time.

  • Yearbooks are for sale until June 4th, please send in order form and $10 payment ASAP in order to secure your copy and remember your SJA year!
  • After Care invoices for May sent home in agendas, payment is due back no later than May 9th. 

Important Reminders


 

-         Wednesday, June 4th – Arts Night – please, drop off your child at our class at 6:45pm. JKs are asked to dress in cowboy/cowgirl outfit (jeans, button up shirt and boots).

-         Wednesday, June 4th – Maples Permission form is due.

-         Friday, June 6th – In class Spelling Bee competition.

-         Tuesday, June 10th – Spelling Bee (finalists from each class compete on stage).

-         Wednesday, June 11th – Graduation Night (all students will receive a certificate on stage) – students can wear non-uniform attire. Please, be at school at 6:45pm.

-         Thursday, June 12th – Maples Field trip, wear Gym uniform (be at school at 8:30am – pick up will be regular 3:40pm). Bring disposable water bottle, lunch and snacks in brown/plastic bag. Don’t bring any items that might be forgotten.

-         Friday, June 13th – school dismissal at 11:30am – please note: after care ends @4pm.

-         Friday, June 13th - Summer Fair (buy tickets). The fair will run from 12-2pm. Parents are asked to supervise their children at all time.

Happy Thursday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time, snacks and French class.
In the morning we had our summative presentations. Students did really well! We also completed a couple of pages that dealt with letter/sentence formation and cvc words.
In the afternoon we practiced our song on stage and visited Miss. Farmer's class, as today JKA students set up a Zoo in their class. Everyone had a lot of fun participating in the Zoo centers.
To finish off the day we had story time and Gym class.

Happy Wednesday!

Today we began the day with Gym, French and Drama classes.
Students then had a snack and circle time.
In Language Arts we worked on a couple of pages where students practiced writing and forming words/sentences correctly.
In Math we worked on counting and writing numbers correctly.
In the afternoon we had centers and also practiced our Arts Night song on stage. To finish off the day we had story time and freezes from Alyssa! Thank you Alyssa!

Please, remember that JKs are to wear cowboy and cowgirl outfit at Arts Night. It can be jeans pants, button shirt and boots. We already have hats donated by Mrs. Petrovic.

Warm Tuesday!

It feels like summer!
Today we began the day with morning circle time, healthy snacks and French class .
In Language Arts we practiced copying sentences. It is important that students going to SK next year use the following when writing a sentence: start a sentence with upper case, finger space between words, write words phonetically and end mark.
In Math we worked on adding numbers 1-20.
In our UOI we made animals using clay.
Students participated in centers and story time.
Tomorrow is casual day!

Happy and Sunny Monday!

Welcome Mr. Sun! What a nice and warm weather!
Today we began the day with morning circle time (students had a lot to share about the weekend), snacks, French and Drama classes.
In Language Arts we completed an activity where we had to build cvc (consonant/vowel/consonant)words.
In Math we worked on 2 types of activities. The first one was practicing writing numbers 1-20 correctly and the second was to tell how many each ten frame represented and then write the number.
Students participated in centers, gym class and story time.
