Happy Monday!

Yes! Happy Monday! Lots of learning in our class today!
We began the day with morning circle time and snacks.
In Language Arts, students met our new animal friend for the week: "Alexander Alligator". We learned about alligators and how Mrs. Alligator guards her eggs until they hatch. Students then completed a worksheet on letter a. We also looked for As in our names.
After that students made As out of play dough.
In Math we continued with our unit on data management and today we talked about graphs, more specifically bar graph. We used little toy frogs and completed a graph as a class. After we were done putting the information, we discussed as a class and students contributed with their inputs.
In our UOI for this week we are going to focus on exposure students to a various fine motor skills activities. Which will also involve language skills and math concepts. Today for table 1 and 2, students were instructed to cut and paste pictures with the beginning sound of a. For table 3, students were encouraged to trace and cut along on lines.
Everyone was very focused in order to complete their work as you can see in the pictures.

In our centers today we had blocks, puzzles, lacing, drawing and sorting sets.

Have a great evening everyone!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A princess, batman, a mom, a doctor...
What is your favorite place to visit?
A doctor's office!
What is your favorite food?
Candy!
You can hear anything and everything in a kindergarten class!

After running a couple of laps, students got to play in the playground at the park.

Story Time Today...

Today we read this book as a class and had some interesting discussions about sharing.

Sharing is a social skill all children need to learn—the sooner the better. Concrete examples and reinforcing illustrations help children practice sharing, understand how and why to share and realize the benefits of sharing.

Happy Wednesday!

Today we began our day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.

In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of e, i and u. Students then completed a page on upper and lower case I. We also practiced listening short sound of e in words like bed, net and nest.

In Math students were encouraged to count, represent and write number 3.

In our UOI we made our own bodies using pre cut construction paper.

Have great evening everyone and remember to wear GYM uniform tomorrow.

Story Time Today...

Today we read this book as a class. We talked about how simple things can make a person really happy!

Pleased to find a small, empty box, Bear calls it "the greatest thing ever" and decides to take it to his friend Mouse. Along the way, he meets Monkey, Owl, Fox, Elephant, Squirrel, and Rabbit, but no one really appreciates his find. Bear begins to doubt his earlier enthusiasm, but Mouse has the last say when he looks inside the little box. "It is the greatest thing ever," he tells his friend. "Thank you, Bear."

Sunny Tuesday!

What a great day!
We start off our day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
