Then, students came into the classroom and had their snacks. I was very proud of them...no tears whatsoever by this point as a matter of fact their were all very comfortable in the classroom.
Today we had lots of practice for lining up quietly and quickly, using the washroom quietly and not leaving any paper towel on the floor and also how to keep our belongings organized. The last one it will take a while but we'll get there!
Next, they attended French class and right after French we had our circle time. They all enjoyed and today Nicole was the Special Helper!
Today in Language students were encouraged to practice proper pencil grip and trace along on lines (curve, zig zag and straight). Then they traced their names and some of them showed me that they could write their name without tracing!
After that students used playdough to form the first letter of their name.
In Math we divide the class into 3 groups and I asked them to build towers using Lego. After that I asked students to compare and find differences and similarities between each group's tower. Some students made really good observations such as "this tower has a two color pattern and this one has rainbow colors" or "this tower is taller than this one".
In our Unit of Inquiry we read a book titled: "We Share Everything" and then we had a discussion about things we are allowed to share and things we are NOT allowed to share in our classroom. Take a look at our chart.
To finish off the day students had Gym with Mr. Browning.
Have a great evening everyone!
