"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Happy Monday!

I am really proud of all my JKs!
No crying at all today!
We began the day off with morning circle time and snacks.
After that students attended French class.
In Language Arts students were introduced to name, sound and formation of "Ii".
Each week they will learn about a specific animal that begins with the letter of the week. This week is "Itchy Inchworm". After singing our phonics song, students colored an Inchworm and upper and lower case "Ii".
In Math we began a unit on Data Management. Please see the letter in your child's agenda. Today's objective was for students to effectively sort and classify based on a specific sorting rule (e.g., color, size, shape and function).
Students had a bin filled with different animals and different colors. We worked as a group in order to sort the animals out by function and after that by size.
In our UOI we read a book about friendship and had a discussion about "a good friend..." see our chart bellow.

We also watched a short video about hand washing.
Students today had a lot of fun in our Inquiry Centers, take a look...
Have a great evening everyone!
