"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

First Day of School

It will be an exciting, but probably tough day for many of you.
Remember that many of the kids will be upset when you leave in the morning as it is a big step, but they are in great hands.  It's easier to bring them to the gym and go, instead of the kids getting used to you sticking around.
Before School Care starts at 7:30 and it is free, so you are welcome and encouraged to drop your child off early.  Before bringing them to the gym, please drop of their backpacks, shoes, lunches, agendas (if I gave the agenda to you already, please return them tomorrow in your child's backpack with the student handbook signed. If I have not yet given you your child's agenda, I will send it home in their backpack tomorrow) on their cubby (please look for your child's name) if you have any supplies, please leave them on my desk.

For this first week of school, all students are asked to come in their dress uniforms and black dress shoes.  We will start with alternate uniforms next week (Monday and Wednesday are gym uniforms and Tues/Thurs/Fri are dress uniform).  Please bring their gym shoes and outdoor shoes as well tomorrow.

Please remember to leave an extra set of clothing in your child's backpack in a plastic bag, as their will be some accidents while the kids get used to their busy schedule.  If they pee and are able to change on their own, you will not receive a phone call.  If your child cannot change themselves or does the other, please keep your phones close by.

If you do not pick up your child before 3:45pm, they will either be in the After School Care line up outside the gym doors with me to get into the gym or they will already be in the gym.  After School Care is offered until 6:00pm.  Please be sure to sign out your child with the After School teachers to ensure that you are not billed at the end of the month for longer than necessary. Again, Before School Care is free, After School Care you will be invoiced.

The first couple of weeks will be focused a lot on getting used to the rules, routines, one another and the rest of the school.

Looking forward to tomorrow.
Have a great night of sleep!
