Fun Friday!
What a great day today!
Today our day was a little bit different!
We began the day with a house game in the Gym. Next we had our circle time, snacks and Art class.
In Art class we made traffic lights (sorry about the black paint on their sleeves and believe me...they did use their smocks!).
After that we played a reading game, where students had to read words on the board and get points for doing it correctly. :)
In the afternoon we had Show and Tell, we made shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks and had Gym class with me!:)
And finally the bonus of today was playing in the snow!
They all should be very tired!
Have a great weekend everyone!

For the younger students in the we worked on matching upper case with lower case. Take a look at Ninorta's work:
In Math we completed a worksheet where students had to count and circle the correct number of objects. Next we had fun hand printing with paint and counted to 100!
In the afternoon students attended Gym class, participated in centers and we had Learning Buddies with Gr. 5s.
Have a great evening everyone!

Cold Wednesday!
Despite the cold outside we had a fun day indoors!
Today we began the day with morning circle time, healthy snacks and French class!
Mme. Stella is doing a fantastic job teaching JKs on how say the types of transportation in French.
Next we sang our phonics song and practice listening to short vowels in words like dog, cat, milk, bell, pan, sun, gum and fish. I would say the word and students had to tell which vowel they could hear.
Then we completed 3 worksheets dealing with beginning sounds.
In Math we start by making the question: "What can you do with shapes?"
Students took turns playing around with big shapes on the white board, that was the result:
After that students had some time to manipulate shapes and create patterns.

In the afternoon we practiced the poems, had centers (lots of fine motor skills activities) and Gym class.

Today your child will be taking home a letter along with a "cape". Please, read the letter and contact me if you have any questions. It is hard to believe that our 100th day of school is just around the corner! Time flies!
Here are some ideas for the project:

Great DayToday!
Happy Birthday to Jacob and thank you for the delicious cupcakes! Everyone enjoyed!
We began the day with morning circle time, snacks and French class.
In Language Arts we met our new animal friend of the week: Jenny Jaguar. Today we practiced walking like jaguars: slow and quiet. :)
Students completed a page where they practiced lower/upper case J.
We also brainstorm words that begin with J.
In Math, we continue with our unit on shapes. This is our last week to work specifically on shapes. We do re-visited all Math units throughout the school year. For our Math lesson today, students created a creature, by using squares, triangles, rectangles and circles. Next, students were encouraged to count how many of each shape they used.
In our UOI in Transportation we read a book about all different types of trucks. Students understood that trucks are important to move things from one location to another.
At the end of the day we had centers, Gym class and cupcakes to celebrate Jacob's birthday!
