"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Cold Day!

Today we had indoor recess due to the cold weather.
We began the day with morning circle time (everyone shared what they did on the weekend), sancks, French and Drama classes.
In Language Arts we met our new animal friend: Freddy Fish. We then brainstorm a list of words that begin with F.
Next, students completed a page where they traced and wrote upper and lower case F.
In Math students made puppets using all kinds of shapes. After that they were encouraged to describe to the class their creations and kinds of shapes they used. I prompt students with the following: "Can you show shapes that are alike? Tell me what is the same about them."
Then, students got to play "puppet show".
In the afternoon we talked about our UOI and this week we will be working on our bulletin board outside of our class, each day we will add a type of transportation.
To finish off the day, students had centers and Gym.
Today we watched this short video http://youtu.be/ix0gbabEKcI . I encourage you to watch with your child. :)
Have a great evening everyone!
