"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a great time during Christmas break.
Today we began the day with morning snacks, circle time and French class.
In Language Arts we met our new animal friend: Gomer Goat. This week, students will learn name, sound and formation of G.
Students then, completed a worksheet where they traced and wrote upper/lower case g. Students also were encouraged to look at the picture and identify which picture started with g sound.
Next, students completed their journals about something excited they did during the holidays.
In Math, we started a new unit. Today we went on a "shape" hunt around the school. Students were excited to go around the school identifying shapes.
In our UOI we started a new Transdisciplinary Theme: "How We Organize Ourselves". Over the next 8 weeks, students will inquiry into the following central idea:
Transportation provides a way for people and things to move from one location to another.
Today as an introduction we talked about the word transportation and what are the 3 types of transportation (land, air and sea).
To finish off the day, students had centers and participated in Gym class.
Have a great evening everyone!
