"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Dear Parents,

We had a great day!
Some tears throughout the day...which is totally normal.
Each student fascinated me with their own unique personality...some chatty...some shy...some inquirers...I look forward to getting to know each student this school year!
Today we start the day off in the Gym with opening ceremonies. Then we head off to our classroom.
We had our morning circle time, where we do our calendar, check the weather, "dress up Joe", sing and 100th Day of School.
After that students attended French and Art classes.
When they returned to our classroom we attempted to make mosaic names by tearing paper and gluing on students' name. That was a bit challenging but was a good fine motor exercise.
After that students had about 15 small objects and they were asked to tell me what they notice about the objects, how the objects are alike and how they are different. For this week we will be playing some games in Math, so I can assess students prior knowledge in data management, patterning and numeracy.
After lunch we had our Inquiry Centers.
In our Unit of Inquiry we began by having a discussion about what is play and what is your favourite thing to play.
At the end of the day we played a house game in the Gym with the whole school and by that time everyone was really tired. Hope everyone gets a good night of sleep:-) I know I will!
I will see you all tomorrow!
Please, remember to bring the agenda everyday.

Sorry for the blurry pictures.
