"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Happy Friday!

Today we had a great day!
In the morning we had a game in the Gym with the whole school. After that students had French class with Mme. Stella. Then they had their snacks.
In Language Arts, students again practiced proper pencil grip and tracing along the lines.
In Math I assessed them on patterns. Some students were able to make a simple color pattern (aba) and some didn’t understand very much what I was talking about. Nothing to be worried about, we will have a complete unit on patterns in second term.
In our Unit of Inquiry we had our Show & Tell presentation. Today was only for practicing...starting next week students will have a rubric for each presentation. They will be evaluated on the following:
-          Listening :
Eyes are on speaker
Asks relevant questions
Shows active listening (whole body)
-          Speaking:
Gives three complete statements about the item
Uses a loud, clear voice
Uses appropriate eye contact
Today one of our centers was cutting shapes along the lines. They all had fun practicing their cutting skills.
To finish off the day, students had Gym with Mr. Browning and we read a nice book.
Have a great weekend everyone!
