"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Happy Monday!

Today we had a fun day!
We start the day off with morning circle time, snacks, French and Gym classes.
In Language Arts students met our new animal friend of the week: Vicky Vulture.
Students then completed two worksheets where they traced and wrote upper/lower case V.
Another activity we did in Language was rhyming words. Students were encouraged to color the pictures that rhyme with map.
In Math we continue with our Pattern unit. Today we talked about action pattern and to help students better understand this concept, we learned to dance the Chicken Dance. Take a look:

In our UOI we are changing things up this week. We will be doing exciting and educational activities related to 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day!
Today we completed an activity where students drew their self portrait at 100 years old. Before drawing, we talked about some characteristics of a 100 year old person. Here are the answers:
- wear glasses
- have a big fat tummy
- pimples
- has "silver" hair
- they walk slow
- they have a cane to walk
Take a look at students self portrait:

In the afternoon we had centers, practice poems and read stories.
Have a great evening everyone!
