Everyone was excited to see Laila back!
We start the day off with morning circle time and healthy snacks. Students then attended French class. In Language Arts we met our new animal friend of the week: Larry Lion.
Students then traced and wrote upper/lower case L. We also brainstorm words that begin with L.
In Math we started a new unit on numeracy. Today we talked about families and how can we represent the number of people in our family. Students drew a picture of their family members. In our new Unit of Inquiry we talked about our 3 lines of inquiry and what do we already know about arts and emotions. I explained to them that we can express ourselves through celebration, religion, dance, art, stories, poems, music and/or dramatic play. For this unit we will be focusing on anything that involve ARTS+STORIES!
After that we read the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?"
Students then completed an activity where they had to color ice cream scoops accordingly and cut out along on the lines. After that we made a graph, as a class to find out the least and most favourite ice cream flavour.
To finish off the day students participated in centers and attended Gym class.
Today we read the following books in class:
Olivia’s lemonade stand is losing customers to the competition . . . Francine! Olivia decides it’s time to rethink the lemonade stand concept and turns hers into a full-scale backyard restaurant. Olivia and Francine decide there are enough thirsty customers out there for everyone—they just have to work together!
It's raining! 'Let's go splashing', says Newton to Snappy. But when Newton
can find only one wellington the search is on. And if that's not enough trouble,
what happens when Newton discovers he has lost something much more
important?
